★★★★★★★★★★4.6 · 83 reviews · 3 hours · from $108

Review of Banff and Moraine Lake night tours with stargazing, telescopes, hot drinks, blankets, hotel pickup, and aurora chances.

“Very relaxed and beautiful. Our guides were great and very knowledgeable about all the stars. Very attentive bringing blankets and hot chocolate. Lying on the blow up couch gazing at the stars, and watching the moonrise was all so very surreal. Even though we didn’t get a glimpse of the northern lights, the stargazing was beautiful, and the surprise activity added to the fun.”

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 31 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $69

Review of Canmore’s two-hour night walk, with starry skies, local stories, wildlife, pricing, trail advice, and booking tips.

“This was the last of 4 tours we booked with this company. We met our guide outside of Banff near Lake Minnewanka. We walked to and around the lake for nice views of the night sky with no light pollution. I imagine this would be a perfect spot when the northern lights are out. Jacob, our guide, was funny and very knowledgeable about the area. The road to the lake is in a wildlife preserve and Jacob gave us a night safari on the drive out spotting a very cute white fox and deer. Would not hesitate using this company again.”

Review of Banff’s night adventure with stargazing, hot drinks, telescope use, cozy loungers, and possible Aurora sightings.

“The stargazing was amazing—we saw Jupiter and her moons through the telescope, and with the naked eye we were treated to such a clear sky that we saw the arm of the Milky Way! The tour guides were kind and very knowledgeable, and each location was easy to get to and comfortable, despite the cold! I highly recommend this tour!”

Jasper: Jasper Planetarium Dark Sky Experience

8.Jasper Planetarium Dark Sky Experience

★★★★★★★★★★4.2 · 11 reviews · 3 hours · from $102

Review of Jasper Planetarium’s 3-hour dark sky tour, with dome theatre, telescopes, Indigenous constellations, binoculars, and rain check.

“Set up in a tent in parking lot of Jasper Park Lodge does not qualify this as a Planetarium. While the staff was nice and knew their subject it was best suited to school kids not two adults at 11pm . We only booked so we could look thru a huge telescope at the stars. Was only able to look through a small one that barely highlighted stars in the skies without any definition at all. Seems like false advertising, even though they did advise that due to whether it may not be able to look at STARs on a cloudy night. They should have canceled the tour. Unfortunately, due…”

Review the Jasper Planetarium dome experience, with Northern Lights, Indigenous constellations, practical tips, pricing, parking, and who should book.

“With only a few guests attending the 6:45 PM visit at the planetarium on July 18, we had a great opportunity to interact with our guide/narrator. The visual experience was stunning, backed up by a well-informed narrator (she had great public speaking skills and an appreciated sense of humour).”
